Moo-nays Garden is a play on words, referring to Claude Monets impressionist artworks and his love for gardens of flowers, including Kansas Citys native sunflowers. The cow canvass adds a dose of good humor, in addition to being a symbol of Kansas Citys stockyard heritage. It is this type of connection that the artist wants her students to make when looking at art; enjoying art for its ability to communicate meaning on may different levels. Moo-nays Garden is a piece that will add beauty to any location.
Artist Dianne Flynn-YI is presently an art instructor at an elementary school in Smithville, Missouri, where she teaches her students that art is a language, a form of communication, and that it can take many forms.
