Title: 18th & Bovine
Location: Downtown KC, MO - Barney Allis area
Artist: Jeff DeRousse
Sponsor: Greater Kansas City Community Foundation

18th & Bovine is dedicated to the jazz history of Kansas City. It's bright, bold colors compliment the rhythm of the music. It has a "graffiti" feel that is very striking. Colorful jazz players set on the cobalt blue background just radiates with energy.

Mr. DeRousse drew upon Kansas City themes in designing his two cows, 18th & Bovine and Southwest Bullevard. Not just working with the usual cow puns or subject matter, he wanted each cow to be recognized as a "Kansas City" cow and only a "Kansas City' cow. "I hope people enjoy the designs and have fun with the whole event. The highest praise I could hope for is that children become inspired to pursue their own interest in art from viewing my cows.”

This cow was sold in the internet auction hosted by that began on October 5, 2001, immediately following the close of the live auction and ran for approximately three weeks.
