Nobody on the planet eats more butter than New Zealanders, who consume 26 pounds per person each year. In the United States, however, butter consumption is spread pretty thin - only 4 pounds per year.

"Kansas Cow:Grazing” depicts the farmland and pastureland of the great state of Kansas. It includes a sky full of friendly clouds, a distant barn and tractor to hint at the folks that tend the land, a cornfield, some cows, and lots of sunflowers. The artist was inspired by he beauty of the Kansas landscape. “It's a happy, bucolic scene with small surprise details meant to make one smile!”

This cow was sold in the live auction conducted by Sotheby's on October 5, 2001 at Starlight Theatre.
