Deaf Awareness Visual Communication Cow was designed and painted by artist Barbara Adams and students from the Kansas School for the Deaf. They hope that their cow helps the community become more aware of their system of signs and finger spelled letters.
She is representative of all of the deaf children being educated in the Kansas City area. The cows spots consist of the finger spelled alphabet, and the cows horns are remolded to the sign for cow. The artists hope that their cow raises community awareness of their system of signs and finger spelled letters.
