First man, now bovine is ready for space travel thanks to artist Dave Fisher. The irony that cows will never have the technology to go the stars like the primates do... although because of cows throughout history, we stand on the shoulders of giants. They are content to let us go and watch us fly, said the artist.
The creation of Space Shuttle Cow is pretty straightforward according to Mr. Fisher. I cut into the poor thing with a saw, then slid parts of a hollow wooden door that I sawed to shape. It was then buttressed inside with screws and fiberglass, and then everything was covered with body putty and sanded. The rocket-boosters are plastic plant-containers screwed to the cut-off buttocks area. Dave Fisher has been a freelance illustrator for 17 years. His work includes cartoons, board game design, children's books, clip art, advertising illustration, greeting cards, and fine art posters & prints.
