Title: COWlligraphy
Location: Crown Center
Artist: Hallmark Lettering Studio Artists
Sponsor: Crown Center

COWlligraphy is a product of the collaborative efforts of twelve employees of the Creative Lettering Department at Hallmark Cards, Inc.

First proposed as a joke/pun in response to the call for entries during a group meeting, the idea somehow caught on and execution began.

Lettering artists collected cow words and phrases, then put to use their professional skills in calligraphy, handlettering and typography to flourish the entire cow. Photocopies and laser copies at various sizes were decoupaged onto the cow by the artists in their spare time, and by their children on "Bring Your Kids to Work" Day.

Response during public display has been wonderful. Kids loved to read and climb the cow, while adults have been seen intently reading the cow and chuckling to themselves for periods of up to twenty minutes.

This cow was sold in the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that began on October 5, 2001, immediately following the close of the live auction and ran for approximately three weeks.
