Title: Putting It All Together
Location: JCCC, Overland Park, KS
Artist: Sarah Butler
Darryl Woods
Sponsor: Accenture

This could be the largest cow puzzle in history. Putting It All Together consists of many interlocking puzzle pieces painted in different colors, shapes and sizes – all of which work together to create the finished image. “In a culture full of diversity, it is imperative for us to embrace and encourage that diversity to fully realize our potential and no one person or thing is more important than another. This cow represents the wide range of diversity in our culture and the necessity of ‘Putting it all together’ to make the whole. The whole is more than the sum of its parts and this cow is the embodiment of that,” said the artists.

Sarah Butler studied watercolor at the Taos Institute of Arts and is currently studying oil painting with Linister. Darryl Woods attended the Kansas City Art Institute, but considers himself a self-taught artist. Darryl's work consists of still lifes and caricatures.

This cow was sold in the internet auction hosted by that began on October 5, 2001, immediately following the close of the live auction and ran for approximately three weeks.
