"High Steaks Poker" is a play on the words "steaks" (food) and "stakes" (something wagered in a game). It includes cartoonish characters of card playing bovines as stereotypical "Old West" riverboat gambling types. There are dusty cowboys, seasoned gamblers and a naive farm boy with a case of beginners luck. The viewpoint is a panorama of the card table from two sides showing the same characters on the left and right and different characters and backgrounds in the middle. According to Mr. Lewis, “There is no deep message intended with this cow. It is simply an amusing homage to a romantically remembered era of our history.”
