Moody Blue is painted in shades of blue and white to reflect the beautiful skies above Kansas City and spotted with large black musical notes that wrap around the contours of her body. This happy motif rises for a deep purple underbelly.
I wanted a design that at a glance represented a real cow but upon closer examination became a Song of the Plains, a tribute to the pioneers, past and present, whose passions and joys, hopes and dreams, triumphs and tragedies join the music of the wind to form the harmony that is Kansas City, the original Cowtown, said the artist.
Artist Joe Bill Breedens art ranges from logos to posters to scenic design. Most recently he designed a poster for the Missouri State Librarys summer reading program for children, 2001 Places to Go and just finished painting the backdrops for White AlligatorGhosts of the Bayou, the Kansas City Zoological Parks special summer exhibit.
