Renowned artist Theodore Waddell’s works offer insights about the relationships between humans, animals and the environment. His works, abstract depictions of the rodeo, bronc rider on a horse, are done in oils on canvas as well as graphite drawings. Waddell’s animals are the vehicles through which he explores the variable colors of a black cow, a gray horse, or a snowy plain. The artist’s work appears in numerous private and public collections.
The artist was inspired to produce Kansas City Angus by the Black Angus cattle residing on his property. The artist admits he’s not much for gimmicks or “catchy kinds of things” so he painted KC Angus as it looks. It’s rich textures are blue, brown, red, purple and, of course, black.
