Title: Aggie
Location: Starlight Theatre/Swope Park/KC Zoo
Artist: Sylvia D. Mooney
Sponsor: Kansas City Zoo

Don’t step on this cow. You’ll be on your backside quickly. The artist began “Aggie” by first spray-painting colors flowing in circular conformations much like weather patterns, in organic shapes. She chose to cover the cow with marbles for two reasons: one, because she loves the way light reflects the colors within marbles; and two, because children love them and marbles evoke wonderful childhood memories in adults. We think you’ll agree that the finished piece is ‘Marbelous’.

This cow was sold in the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that began on October 5, 2001, immediately following the close of the live auction and ran for approximately three weeks.
