It shows different parts of education with The Arts standing out. “We know reading, writing, math and science are very important, but the arts are equally important to the development of the whole person in our society today. We are becoming more and more visual. Our cow was to show art as important in education,” said Ms. O’Neill. Artist Peggy O’Neill is a secondary art instructor at Bishop Miege, and three of her Advanced Art Students helped design and paint smARTcow.edu.				This cow was sold in the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that began on October 5, 2001, immediately following the close of the live auction and ran for approximately three weeks.
